NSSF Fires Reed Exhibitions from SHOT Show®

The National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), the trade association for the firearms industry, today announced that it has reached an agreement with Reed Exhibitions to terminate the agreement the parties had for the management of the SHOT Show®. Accordingly, effective immediately, Reed Exhibitions will no longer be manager and producer of the SHOT Show.

Reed Exhibitions provided service to NSSF and the customers of the SHOT Show for more than three decades, however, the companys decision to restrict the sale of certain types of firearms this year at its consumer hunting and fishing show an event unrelated to NSSF and the SHOT Show was in conflict with NSSFs mission to serve the shooting sports industry. As a result, both organizations decided it was in the best interest of the SHOT Show to end their relationship.

NSSF is actively engaged in the process of identifying a new show management company to manage and produce the SHOT Show beginning with the 2014 SHOT Show.

The SHOT Show the Shooting, Hunting and Outdoor Trade Show is owned and sponsored by NSSF. It is the largest and most comprehensive trade show for all professionals involved with the shooting sports, hunting and law enforcement industries. The 2014 SHOT Show will be held Jan. 14-17 at the Sands Expo and Convention Center in Las Vegas.

Bonzer Wolf has Media Credentials issued by NSSF and will be returning to Las Vegas for the first time in over two years to cover the 2014 SHOT Show.

The National Shooting Sports Foundation is the trade association for the firearms industry. Its mission is to promote, protect and preserve hunting and the shooting sports. Formed in 1961, NSSF has a membership of more than 8,000 manufacturers, distributors, firearms retailers, shooting ranges, sportsmens organizations and publishers. For more information, log on to

Second Amendment Supporter of the Year

The Second Amendment Supporter of the year is every gun owner in America who joins the NRA for just $25 and sends a tax deductible donation to the Second Amendment Foundation .

If every gun owner in America did both, we would face another threat to our Second Amendment civil rights from the federal government during our lifetime.  If we dont, we could effectively lose our Second Amendment rights by March 2013.

There are many other great organizations to join including  Gun Owners of America (GOA) and the  National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF). Im members of both.  But in my opinion, the two MUST join organizations are the NRA and SAF.  Join as many as you can.  We cant afford not to.

We cant fix Obamacare, the entitlements or the deficit. Those may never be fixed. But we can fix the erosion of our Second Amendment rights and  crush any and all federal gun control legislation simply by joining the NRA for $25 and supporting the Second Amendment Foundation with our tax deductible donations.

The Second Amendment Foundation (SAF) is dedicated to promoting a better understanding about our Constitutional heritage to privately own and possess firearms. To that end, we carry on many educational and legal action programs designed to better inform the public about the gun control debate.

For more information about the activities of the Foundation, or to make a Donation to help support and the Foundation, please call 1-425-454-7012 and speak with the Second Amendment Foundation staff directly. If you would like to volunteer to support the Second Amendment Foundation with either time or money, please send an email stating how you would like to help! The Second Amendment Foundation also maintains an Attorney Referral Service. Call 1-800-426-4302 to contact the Second Amendment Foundation if in need of pro-gun rights attorney.

Interested in becoming a Second Amendment Foundation member? Joining SAF and being nationally recognized as an individual who wants to protect your rights, and the rights of those around you has never been easier! Please contact the SAF Membership department at: 425-454-7012! We look forward to hearing from you.

You can also join and make a tax deductible contribution for 2012 tax year by clicking this link

Gun Owners Will Determine The The Fate of Feinstein Gun Control Bill

I didnt make it clear yesterday, but under the Gun Registration and Confiscation Bill that the Democrats will propose on January 3, 2011, tens of millions of current gun owners would be required to pay a federal tax and register their legally purchased firearms.  Failure to comply would be a federal felony that would not only result in confiscation of your firearms but could result in a felony conviction and bar you from every owning, possessing or even touching a firearm for the rest of your life.

Make no mistake about it.  Senator Dianne Feinstein’s new assault weapons ban would impose a $200 tax on hundreds of existing semi-automatic rifles, shotguns and pistols currently owned by tens of millions of law abiding citizens.

According to Feinstein’s bill summary, the legislation requires owners of semi-automatic rifles – deemed as assault weapons – to register their gun with the Federal Government under the National Firearms Act

The National Firearms Act, first enacted in 1934, was passed to choke the sale and transfer of fully automatic weapons.

Under the current NFA, owners of automatic weapons are allowed to keep their weapons but requires an owner to submit photographs and fingerprints to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE).

A $200 tax on an NFA firearm is imposed each time a NFA weapon is registered or transferred to a different address. Each weapon under the Feinstein proposed legislation must be registered as an NFA firearm and would be subject to the same restrictions.

But Feinstein’s bill goes even further, banning the transfer of “assault weapons.”  That means current owners of the banned weapons could only allow them keep them until they die. Instead of the gun passing down to heirs, the guns would be forfeited to the federal government.

If this Bill passes and it nullifies the Second Amendment and signals the beginning of tyranny in the United States.  In my opinion, there is a very simple way to stop this legislation from being passed.

If you are a gun owner who opposes this legislation, simply join the NRA for $25 . This bill will stay bottled up in Committee if just gun owners who possess either a modern sporting rifle, high capacity magazines or handguns that will be outlawed by the Feinstein legislation join the NRA for just $25.

Seriously, its that simple.  Politicians number one priority is getting re-elected. The entire House of Representatives and 1/3 of the Senate will face election in 2014.  There are currently 4 million NRA members.  There are well over 100 million gun owners. In fact there are most likely over 200 million gun owners but they dont want to be identified so they dont tell pollsters they own firearms.

Just 40 million NRA members would insure our Second Amendment rights for the foreseeable future.  There are many Second Amendment organizations out there. Im a member of Gun Owners of America (GOA), The Second Amendment Foundation (SAF) and The National Sports Shooting Foundation (NSSF).

But the fact is, the NRA has the most political clout and has the best chance of stopping this and the hundreds of other gun control bills that will be introduced in 2013.  If youre not willing to pay $25 and join, there will be consequences.  Dont blame the liberal fascists.  They are what they are.  Its the law abiding gun owners who control the outcome of this and all future gun control legislation.

The Sportsmen's Act of 2012 Final Vote Today

The U.S. Senate is scheduled to vote this afternoon, MONDAY, Nov. 26, on the Sportsmens Act of 2012 (S.3525).

All hunters, target shooters and firearms owners should call your senators on Monday and urge them to vote YES on the Sportsmens Act (S.3525), the most important package of measures for the benefit of sportsmen in a generation.

Do not be confused by the mistaken information put out by one national gun owners organization. S.3525 does not override current laws and thereby enable the seizure of privately-held land.

This historic legislation includes the firearms industrys top legislative priority, the Hunting, Fishing and Recreational Shooting Protection Act (S. 838) that would clarify that ammunition is excluded from regulation by the Environmental Protection Agency under the Toxic Substances Control Act.

Anti-hunting groups led by the Center for Biological Diversity are suing the EPA to force a ban on traditional ammunition made with lead components that would devastate hunting and shooting sports participation, drive up ammunition prices by almost 200 percent on average and dry up conservation funding.

No less than 46 of the nations leading sportsmen and conservation groups including NRA, Congressional Sportsmens Foundation, Ducks Unlimited, American Sportfishing Association, International Game Fish Association, Center for Coastal Conservation, and Boone and Crockett Club are championing S.3525. This bipartisan legislation is strongly supported by the National Shooting Sports Foundation.

A similar package of billsthe Sportsmens Heritage Act of 2012 (H.R. 4089)was passed by the House in the spring by a bipartisan vote of 276 to 146. Passage of this pro-sportsmens legislation will promote, protect and preserve our nations hunting, shooting and conservation heritage for generations to come.

Call the U.S. Capitol Switchboard at 202-224-3121 to urge your senators to SUPPORT the Sportsmens Act of 2012.  Find complete contact information for your elected officials here.

Disgraced Liberal Fascist Spitzer Calls for Firearms Manufacturer Boycott

Every firearms owner and Second Amendment advocate needs to consider membership in the NRA, Gun Owners of America and National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF).  Our Second Amendment civil rights are under relentless attack from the left.  All three of these organizations work 24/7/365 to protect and preserve our civil rights.

Liberal fascism is the core of the Obamanation.  Its not politically correct to use liberal and fascism in the same sentence but the truth shall set you free.  Obama is a Statist President whose priority in a second term will be gun control.  Dont forget he opposed Hillary Clintons National heath care plan so he could win the Democrat primary.  Than he gave us Obamacare, which is even worse than Hillary care. His only accomplishment besides wrecking the economy and driving up the national deficit to record levels is Obamacare.  Gun control is his second term mission.

Todays post comes from Larry Keane at the  National Shooting Sports Foundation

Here we go again.

You would think that even disgraced former New York Attorney General Eliot Spitzer would have learned that illegal “Restraint of Trade” does not play well when challenged, something about antitrust laws and the Commerce Clause of the Constitution. Apparently, he has not grasped that lesson and has brought back a bad idea he first talked about in the year 2000.

Writing on last week, Spitzer again suggested that government entities, this time the federal government, the city of New York and the Bloomberg-funded Mayors Against Illegal Guns (MAIG) get together and use their market purchasing power to boycott firearms manufacturers unless the manufacturers agree to stop selling to the public both ammunition magazines “with more than 10 bullets” and, even more unbelievably “semi-automatic” firearms, of any kind – the very issue in the Heller and McDonald cases decided by the U.S. Supreme Court.

Twelve years ago Spitzer, then the NY Attorney General, and then HUD Secretary Andrew Cuomo, led an almost identical effort to have antigun public officials agree to refuse to buy firearms for their law enforcement agencies unless manufacturers agreed to abide by a so-called “code of conduct” that contained their gun control “wish list” they couldn’t convince Congress and the American public to support.

NSSF and a number of firearms manufacturers took swift legal action to put a stop to this unlawful antitrust conspiracy by suing Spitzer, Cuomo and other politicians who agreed to illegally boycott manufacturers. Once sued Spitzer and his cohorts abandoned their scheme. Our lawsuit quickly achieved its objective of stopping the illegal boycott dead in its tracks. In fact, lawyers for the officials disavowed the boycott saying, “…no code has been approved, much less applied to the purchase of firearms.” They further claimed that government officials have “…only made vows, pledges or other statements of support for purchasing preferences that are based on proposed criteria.”

As was the case then, NSSF stands ready to take immediate legal action against any attempt by antigun politicians to implement an illegal boycott.

No doubt such an attempt to manipulate the free market will be frowned upon by law enforcement officials when they learn that the decision as to which firearm they can purchase is being made for political reasons rather than being based on which firearm they believe is the most reliable and has the features they desire to protect themselves and our communities.

With apologies to “The Who:” Meet the new idea, same as the old idea.

Eliot Laurence Spitzer (born June 10, 1959) is an American lawyer, political commentator, and former Democratic Party politician. Currently, he is the host of Viewpoint with Eliot Spitzer, a nightly news and commentary program on Current TV. Prior to that, he was the co-host of In the Arena, a talk-show and punditry forum broadcast on CNN from October 2010 to July 2011. He served as the 54th Governor of New York from January 2007 until his resignation on March 17, 2008 from the exposure of his involvement as a regular client of the escort agency, Emperors Club VIP. Prior to being elected governor, Spitzer had served as New York State Attorney General.

“There are those in America today who have come to depend absolutely on government for their security. And when government fails they seek to rectify that failure in the form of granting government more power. So, as government has failed to control crime and violence with the means given it by the Constitution, they seek to give it more power at the expense of the Constitution. But in doing so, in their willingness to give up their arms in the name of safety, they are really giving up their protection from what has always been the chief source of despotism — government.” Ronald Reagan
